Musical Instrument--Guitar

Guitar is a musical instrument.Both classical and electric guitars are there.There are different types of guitar,they are classified based on their total number of string ie 6 string ,4 string,12 string etc.
For a normal classical(acoustic guitar) 6 stringed guitar the 6 strings name are given below,
1 st string we call as "E" note(ie ga2 in carnatic music)
2 nd string we call as "B" note(ie Ni2 in carnatic music)
3 rd string we call as "G" note(ie Pa in carnatic music)
4 th string we call as "D" note(ie Re2 in carnatic music)
5 th string we call as "A" note(ie dha2 in carnatic music)
6 th string we call as "E" note(ie ga2 in carnatic music,difference with 1st string is that here its base note ie,low pitch)

Both 1 st and 6 th string are "E",but they differ,in 1 st high pitch E is used where in 6 th string base note is used(ie low pitch note).

We can play classical music in guitar, using the style "plucking"(ie moving the fingers through different frets so that we feel a classical touch).The different parts of guitar are "Bridge","sound hole","frets","neck". These parts are marked in the picture. Mainly the guitar are made for playing chords. Chords are nothing but collection of several notes.

Carnatic Music

Actually there are 2 types of music in India.
one is HINDUSTANI Music,which is in North part of India and the other is
CARNATIC Music,which is in South part of India.Basically both are same,but in
HINDUSTANI ,its called so because of the influence of Mugal,Persian etc the style of music has change a slight.

But in Carnatic ,there is not like that,so we can say its pure.Both HINDUSTANI and CARNATIC music having Raga's ,but in different name for example in Carnatic ,"Dhera Shankarabharanam" ie 29 th Melakartha raga, we call this same raga in HINDUSTANI as
"Bilava".Both having same notes(ie swaras) in its arohana and avarohana.

The Orgin of music ,came in older ages,its belived that these swaras came from "Omkara".Then came the saptha swaras(ie. Sa , Re , Ga ,Ma , Pa , Dha , Ni ).
Then in 15 th Century AD,some important contributions are made by Saint
Purandhardas and in later 18 th Century ,the great 3 people , "Thyagaraja ",,.
" Muthuswami Deekhitar "and " Shyama Shastri " has contributed a lot to Carnatic music.

Pushpalathika - Raga

arohan :sa re2 ga1 ma1 pa ni1 sa
avarohan :sa ni1 pa ma1 ga1 re2 sa

This is 22 nd jenya ragam(ie it fall in Kharaharapriya raga)......

Malayalam film song composed by Ravendran mash "Kalabham tharam bhagavane"
from film "Vadakkumnadhan" is based on this ragam

Yamuna Kalyani Raga

arohan :sa re2 ga2 pa ma2 pa dha2 sa
avarohan :sa dha2 pa ma2 pa ga2 re2 sa

This raga is 65 th jenya ragam.....(ie kalyani ragam)
Classical songs like "Krishna ne begane" .....
"Sreela vasantham" from malayalam film "Nandhanam"....
"janaki jane" from film "Dhwani"....
"Oru vakku mindathy" frommalayalam film "July 4"...
all composed based on this raga.

Mecha Kalyani Raga

avarohan : sa ni3 dha2 pa ma2 ga3 re2 sa

This raga is called Kalyani.....Its 65 th Melakartha ragam.
Different malayalam film songs like "oru kathilola njan" from film "Vettom"
"kannadi adyam aii enn " from film "Sargam"....
"Mounam swaram aii" from film "Aayushkaalam"...
"Velli nela tullikalo kan" from film "Varnapakittu"....
and an Album song "Sundariye va" from album "Chempakame"....
all composed based on this ragam.

Nelambari Raga

arohan : sa re2 ga2 ma1 pa dha2 pa ni2 sa
avaraohan: sa ni2 pa ma1 ga2 re2 ga2 sa

This raga is 29 th jenya ragam(ie dhera shankarabharanam).Its called sleeping raga.........
eg: songs are malayalam famous "tarattu pattu" ie "omanathinkal kidavooo nalla" is composed on this raga.malayalam film song "pani neer chandreke eni e pookavil" from film "Kilukam","mukile mukile ne" from film "keerthi chakra" all these songs are based on this raga.......

Irayiman Thampi composed the song "omana thinkal kidavo " based on this Raga

Malayamarutham Raga

arohan:- sa re1 ga2 pa dha2 ni2 sa
avarohan:- sa ni2 dha2 pa ga2 re1 sa

Its 16 th Jenya Raga....(ie Chakaravakam).
Here no ma(madhayamam) in this raga....

"Pularkala sundara swapnathil" from malayalam film
"Oru May masa pulariyil"....
is composed based on this raga.......

Harikamboji Raga

avarohan: sa ni2 dha2 pa ma1 ga3 re2 sa

Its 28 th Melakartha ragam......
tamil film song "nenjukul peithidum" from movie "Varanamayiram" is composed based on this raga.......
