Our national anthem is composed based on
Shankarabharnam ragam. i.e., Major scale notes.

And here '-' symbol represents continue of that note
eg: sa- means note sa is played for 2 talam.
Here in [ ] bracket corresponding western notes is
represented.So the one who knows westen music can play
national anthem by seeing this carnatic notes.
arohan :sa re2 ma1 pa ni2 sa
avarohan :sa ni2 dha2 ma1 re2 sa
Here ga note in not there in both arohana and avarohana.It belongs to 22 nd jenya raga(kharahara priya raga).The classical song "Raga sudha rasaa panamucheesi" composed by Sri Tyagaraja swami is based on this raga.This raga is also called Mayuradhvani
